"Dealing with people in this business often means negotiating with diplomacy, and I'm a good listener. I've recently gained a Diploma in Arbitration."
You specialise in retail property. Why?
"I enjoy the challenge of valuing different retail outlets in different areas. I can be in Cardigan one day and Newport the next."
What's the highest number of properties you've valued in a week?
"One client asked me to value 40 retail outlets and as they were spaced up and down the country it was hard work visiting them all, but exhilarating."
Never leave home without?
"My shoes."
Resume: Graduated in 1983 with a B.Sc. in Urban Estate Management. Became an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1984 and elected a Fellow in 1992. Gareth has been appointed to the RICS panels of arbitrators and independent experts
