What's the best thing about your job?
"It has to be the variety. I can be valuing properties one day and handling witness reports over disputed land the next."
What's the strangest property you've ever valued?
"We were once asked to value a graveyard and even a beach hut! Another project required us to find the boundaries of an old property. We had to visit an old people's home to tape the residents' memories."
You're involved in the Wales Home Inspector Pilot Scheme. Can you tell us more?
"The home buying process in England and Wales is the slowest in Europe so the government plans to bring in Home Information Packs which will contain all the necessary information about a property ready for a potential buyer. I'm taking part in the pilot scheme to identify the needs and pitfalls."
Happiness is?
"Sailing out of Swansea harbour on my own yacht..I wish!"
